Lynchburg Pocket Park

Lynchburg Pocket Park

Lynchburg, Virginia

500 SF • Wood Frame

As part of our 50 For 50 campaign, in which 50 good deeds are performed for each year Balzer & Associates has been in business, we would like to present the Pocket Park in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Located on the corner of 11th and Church in Downtown Lynchburg, Balzer & Associates provided landscape architecture services to transform a small 50 ft. x 10 ft. unused piece of property into a surprisingly spacious, public outdoor seating area.  The project features custom wood benches, sail shade canopy, painted wood fencing, and preserved plant life.

The Downtown Lynchburg Association spearheaded the project.  As the first of its kind in Lynchburg, the pocket park builds upon the city’s effort to highlight the beauty and potential of its outdoor spaces.
