Balzer and Associates contributes to Toys for Tots and Mustaches 4 Kids

ROANOKE and RICHMOND, VA. (December 26, 2019) – As 2019 comes to a close, Balzer and Associates is still moving full steam ahead in making contributions to our communities.  Balzer and Associates’ Roanoke office teamed up with the Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association to help collect toys for Toys for Tots.  Balzer and Associates collected board games, action figures, and a new bike, to be included in the over 1,700 toys collected!  The toys were presented at the RRHBA’s Annual Dinner and then distributed to families just before the holidays.

Spearheaded by our Richmond office, donations were collected from friends, family, and across all Balzer and Associates’ offices to benefit Mustaches 4 Kids.  This year, 11 “growers” from the Richmond office grew their best mustaches for the month of November and raised over $14,000 towards supporting local children’s charities such as Feed More, ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, The Children’s Hospital Foundation, Richmond Friends of the Homeless, the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation, among others.  In total, M4K Richmond raised over $360,000 which is destined to supply children and their families with food, housing, and medical treatment.  Each year, the mustache growing season culminates with the annual “Stache Bash” where growers don their best mustache-themed costumes and celebrate the supported charities.  Balzer and Associates’ own David Hogan, Senior Vice President, and Aaron Breed, Associate, co-founded the Richmond Chapter of Mustaches 4 Kids in 2003, which has gone on to raise over $1.4 million since its establishment.
