ROANOKE’S ON A ROLL!
Governor Terry McAuliffe visited Roanoke today for a “major economic development announcement”. This was the second such visit in a week. Last week the Governor announced that Italian auto parts maker, Eldor, Corp. would invest $75 million in a new plant in Botetourt County. Today the Governor announced that Deschutes Brewery will invest $85 million in Roanoke City to build its East Coast operation. Sandwiched in between last week’s announcement and today’s, the Virginia Community College System announced that it would locate its new Shared Services Center in Botetourt County and Virginia Tech and Carilion announced plans for a $67 million expansion at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute. All of this is GREAT news for the Roanoke Region where good economic development news has been slow in coming.
Balzer and Associates, Inc. is proud to have been a tiny part of the tremendous effort that culminated in the two private sector announcements. Our team of Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects and Land Surveyors is eager to be a part of any effort that results in benefits to the communities in which we live and work. Today we celebrate these major accomplishments and the many people who played a role in making them happen. Hats off to Botetourt County, Roanoke City, The Regional Partnership, Virginia Western Community College, the State, and so many others, who worked together to show these great companies the value of locating their businesses in our Region. The Valley is buzzing…now the fun part begins. We welcome Eldor Corp. and Deschutes Brewery and look forward to experiencing their impact in our community. If you want to work with, or for, a company that values its community like we do, please reach out to us in Roanoke, Richmond, the New River Valley, Staunton, or Harrisonburg. Together we can design plans that reflect your dreams…
