When Tascon Group decided on a new site in the western Richmond area for another of their franchised condominium projects, they chose Balzer and Associates, Inc. to redesign their prototype exterior scheme. Long-time Tascon associate Bill Jenkins came to Balzer and Associates, Inc. with a very simple challenge: use the same basic footprint for each building, but redesign the exterior using a variety of exterior materials with varying colors and textures. Balzer and Associates, Inc. produced a series of renderings showing the range of different material choices, and then each individual building was designed using a combination of brick or stone with several different color choices of siding and different trim options to produce a varied exterior look on essentially the same building prototype. As with other Tascon projects, each building features 4 units with 2 distinct floor plan designs, with either 2 or 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths each, living and dining rooms with vaulted or tray ceilings and sunrooms with vaulted ceilings and large expanses of glass.
