Ye Olde Car Wash

The owners of Ye Olde Car Wash purchased a seemingly undevelopable plot of land at the corner of Robious Road and Midlothian Turnpike and came to Balzer and Associates, Inc. for a design solution. The program was to include three wash bays, equipment room, office and a decent amount of storage space. The building was to be highly visible from all sides, requiring that a good amount of attention be paid to the utilitarian elements. A high brick parapet wall surrounds the rooftop while two varying brick colors add interest to the façade. Custom fabricated metal brackets are attached to the underside of the canopy, which, along with the metal roof, is color-matched to the neighboring shopping center.
