Balzer and Associates, Inc. was commissioned to design a three story, 5,500 square foot vacation home in Madison County, Virginia. The home was to consist of spacious, open living areas, individual office spaces, bedrooms for the clients and their three children, as well as a play area for the children. The site was located midway up a hillside and made the home visible from all sides. With an almost 360 degree vista of woods and mountains, it was imperative that the view be captured from practically every window.
