New Stockholders Announced

(July 9, 2021) – Balzer and Associates is pleased to announce 5 new stockholders: Jeff Bridges, Chris Burns, Ben Crew, Daniel Hansen, and Brad Schurman. These leaders represent several of our offices across the Commonwealth and are the embodiment of our firm’s dedication to our clients.

Jeff Bridges, LS is a project manager in the Richmond office of Balzer and Associates. He has worked for the firm for over 18 years. Jeff is responsible for the management of the survey department’s personnel and the production of its survey services. Most of his professional experience has been in and around Central Virginia, leading to an intimate knowledge of the area. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for both the Home Builders Association of Richmond and Virginia. Jeff is also an active member in the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce.

Chris Burns, PE is a project manager in the Balzer and Associates Roanoke engineering department. He has worked for the firm since 2005. Chris manages projects from the initial concept stage through the completion of construction. His strong technical background and diverse array of design experience makes him a valuable asset to any development project.

Ben Crew, LA leads the Balzer and Associates Roanoke engineering department. He has been at the firm for 18 years as a registered landscape architect. Ben is responsible for projects during all parts the site development process from conceptual masterplans to construction documents to project management. His dedication to serving the community complements his leadership skills while managing challenging projects.

Daniel Hansen, LS is the head of the Shenandoah Valley survey department has been working for Balzer and Associates for the last 16 years. Throughout his career with Balzer and Associates, Daniel has worked on a wide variety of projects enhancing his expertise in land surveying. As his responsibilities have grown, Daniel has successfully undertaken project management and the management of multiple survey crews.

Brad Schurman, PE is a project manager in the Richmond engineering department who began working for Balzer and Associates 17 years ago. Brad is responsible for the planning and design of residential land development projects in central and eastern Virginia. Of Brad’s many strengths, he is a strong facilitator. He is frequently in contact with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and is a main point of contact between owners and review agencies.
