New Flood Insurance Premiums May Inundate You

urban1[1]The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is implementing changes to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) which may require you to add flood insurance to your property or significantly increase the amount you pay for flood insurance if you already have it. You may have received a letter from your local government about this or you may first hear about it when you renew your property insurance in the coming months. An important part of this process is the Flood Elevation Certification, whereby our professional determines whether your property lies in a Special Flood Hazard Area, and, if so, what the finished floor elevation of your home or business is, relative to the base flood elevation on your property. If you live in, or near, Blacksburg, VA; Christiansburg, VA; Roanoke, VA; Salem, VA; Staunton, VA; Harrisonburg, VA; or Richmond, VA please ask one of our Professional Engineers, Landscape Architects or Land Surveyors to assist you with understanding the changes to the NFIP and determining your options. With a team of Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects, Land Surveyors and Structural Engineers we can look at ways to reduce your flood risk in order to save on your flood insurance premiums.
